Call for Papers for the conference "Powerful Literary Fiction Texts"

How do fictional prose texts bind the attention of readers? How do they generate aesthetic emotions? Which effect can be assigned to specific stylistic characteristics of the fictional genre?

The aim of the conference "Powerful Literary Fiction Texts" is to discuss these and other questions by bringing together for the first time the perspectives of literary studies, stylistics and linguistics, empirical aesthetics and oral performance in an interdisciplinary and method-connecting approach. The conference will take place from 19 to 21 June 2019 in Brighton, UK. The organizers are Mariane Utudji (Université Sorbonne Nouvelle- Paris 3 ), R. L. Victoria Pöhls (Max Planck Institute for Empirical Aesthetics), Dr. Craig Jordan-Baker (University of Brighton, United Kingdom).

The deadline for submission is January 20. Further information on the programme, submission guidelines and contact details can be found on the conference website at https://p-lit.org/
