Films & the Stories They Tell

Study Studying the Effects of Film Storytelling

What makes a film’s story interesting or exciting? For a new study on films and storytelling, we are looking for participants who want to watch films and report on their experience.

This study has two parts. First, you will be asked to fill in an online questionnaire at home. Next, you will be invited to our lab and watch a selection of short films, and report on your experience via computer. The online questionnaire will take approximately 45–60 minutes. The lab session will take 60–75 minutes and will be held at our institute at Grüneburgweg 14, Frankfurt am Main.

Each participant will receive 28 € as compensation.

Participant requirements:

  • between 16 and 60 years old
  • speak English fluently (Level C)
  • no serious impairments to hearing or vision.

Interested? Please send a message to film.prj@ae.mpg.de to pre-register for the study.

The study will commence at the start of November.
