How Language Learning Affects You

Have you ever wondered how learning a new language reshapes your mind? We are looking for participants who are good at English and are interested in learning a new language.

In this study, we will conduct a computer behavior experiment in which we investigate language learning and its relationship to other cognitive processes using eye-tracking technologies. There are two mutually exclusive parts to this study—you can only participate in either Group 1 or Group 2. The on-site session for Group 2 will take place at a later date.

What You Can Expect:

  • One online English test
  • One session, where you will learn a new language and perform cognitive tasks

Duration and Compensation:

  • 3,5 h Group 1 ,  3 h group 2
  • 7€ per half hour

Participation Requirements (Group 1):

  • Age: 18 to (including) 55 years
  • German as a first language
  • Good knowledge of English
  • No hearing impairments
  • No vision impairments

Participation requirements (Group 2):

  • Age: 18 to (including) 55 years
  • Good knowledge of English
  • No hearing impairments
  • No vision impairments
  • No participation in Group 1 of this study
