Lecture by Bo-Yong Park: Cortical hierarchies in space and time:
How brain structure governs ongoing functional dynamics

A core assumption of neuroscience is that brain structure governs ongoing function. Recent neuroimaging studies have established the pattern of structure-function coupling at the macroscale. Yet, studies have generally adopted an oversimplified model of brain function. Here, we aimed to formulate a novel framework to understand how the emergence of momentary neural states is constrained by the structural organization of the cortex.
