Welcome Tuba Özcan!
Tuba is pursuing her master’s degree in neuroscience at the University of Pavia in Italy as an international student from Turkey. During her undergraduate training in psychology, she became fascinated by how the brain functions in a way that makes us who we are. Following graduation, she worked as a research assistant at a comparative cognition laboratory, investigating multiple memory systems in rodent models. She enjoys asking philosophical questions about the mind and aims to obtain a comprehensive understanding of the brain from neurophysiological level to consciousness. This internship, she believes, will provide a strong basis for her to learn about neural mechanisms of consciousness and research techniques.
