ArtLab live
ArtLab live is a new performance format within the scientific context of the Max Planck Institute for Empirical Aesthetics. It enables the creative bringing together of scientific questions and artistic endeavours and focusses on art as a knowledge-producing instrument.
On a monthly basis, we invite artists who formulate questions about the reception and experience of art as the basis of their practices. The series focuses on performative and sound-based works of art which investigate acoustic events and listening phenomena. It aims to explore the role that art can play within a research institution.
