Broadcasting Fee

Once you have moved into your apartment and registered your residence, you'll start receiving a mysterious bill for a service that you have never ordered. This is the broadcasting fee (Rundfunkbeitrag), which covers public television and radio programming in Germany and which all households, companies, and institutions are legally obligated to pay. The current fee for private households is 18.36€ per month.
